If you're looking to lose fat or lose weight in general, I need
to tell you something. If a program is promising quick or instant
results, stay away. Fact is that there is absolutely no such thing as a
quick fix when it comes to losing real body fat. While it may be true
that you can lose weight in a fairly short period of time, it's almost
always temporary, especially if you're doing one of those gimmick diets.
You know the ones... they promise that you'll lose 3 pant or dress
sizes in 2 days. Not only do those diets not work long term, but they
also create a real havoc on your metabolism and body. In fact most of
the time you'll end up gaining all the weight, plus some, when you get
back to normal life. I can only assume that if you're looking to lose
weight, you'd like it to actually stay off.
With that being said here is a couple of quick weight loss or fat loss tips that can have a dramatic impact in your journey to becoming healthier. If you take these seriously and apply them to your diet (I don't like the word diet because it implies it's temporary, but a true diet is a lifetime commitment), you will lose weight or lose fat. This obviously will have a positive effect on your overall health.
I get it... almost everyone wants to lose weight or lose fat and see results immediately. While in the very beginning of any new exercise program, you'll typically see some instant results, but if you're looking for long term success it's important that you have patience.
Here are a few tips:
1)Drink lots of water.
I would recommend having at least 2 big glasses of water with every meal. If you're also exercising daily, then I'd recommend bringing a refillable water bottle with you and drinking a few of them throughout your workout to replace the water that you sweat out. Drinking a lot of water will help cleanse your body from all the harmful toxins that are in there, as well as kick start your metabolism into high gear.
2)eating meals
You know growing up that we are told to eat 3 square meals a day, While this certainly isn't a bad idea, if you'd like to really jump start your metabolism and lose fat I'd recommend eating 5-6 small meals throughout the day. I'm not talking full fledged meals, but rather something small for breakfast (egg whites, with a whole wheat bagel), a healthy snack, a lean meat sandwich (turkey or chicken breast) with nuts for lunch, another healthy snack, and then a nice balanced dinner (chicken tacos). Believe it or not, if you eat healthy lean meats with fibrous vegetables, you can actually eat quite a bit more and still lose fat or lose weight. That and you don't have to sacrifice quality because it's healthy.
3) eat wheat bread instead of white
You don't have to cut out all carbohydrates or anything like that, but rather eat wheat bread instead of white bread. I also eat wheat pasta myself instead of white pasta and I'm still in great shape. Replace that white rice with brown rice. The rule of thumb is that the more processed something is, the worse it is for you. In fact if you make sure to combine a good source of lean protein with all of your meals, you're way ahead of the pack in terms of a nice balanced diet.
Don't let those gimmick diets fool you. If you're looking to lose fat or lose weight, the only way to do it is with a slow and steady approach to it. The weight doesn't come on overnight, and it certainly doesn't come off overnight, but if you can apply those tips and start learning the right choices to make there is nothing that will hold you back from becoming as fit as you desire.
