The Quick and Dirty Guide to Healthy Weight Loss

Weight loss has been something I never concerned myself with for the most of my life. For me, I was always that really skinny kid growing up. I actually tried to gain weight with substances like whey protein and other weight gain products. I know that this is in stark contrast to all too many people who suffered being overweight their entire life. The thing is however, skinny people can start putting on the pounds just the same if they get complacent and that is exactly what happened to me. I started gaining weight and getting fat from a lifestyle that involved working in a cubicle and sitting around for 10+ hours a day. Human being were not meant to just sit around so here are some very simple things I did that resulted in me losing weight.

1) I quit my job.

Quitting my job that required me to work in an office setting where I did nothing but sit in front of excel spread sheets has been the single best thing I did for my spirit and overall health. It is depressing when you are doing something you do not enjoy and find yourself at the same time growing into poor health. I quit. You need to quit too. It's the first step and a major one.

2) Work a labor intensive job.

I built up a portfolio of web properties that generate an income for me. I make enough to live, but still need to work the occasional odd job. I choose to do manual labor in a warehouse that required that I walk around for 5 hours a day moving pallat jacks, lifting heavy objects and just using my body. The key take away is this is how people evolved working. We evolved to wake up, move, then eat breakfast, then go back to moving around. Maybe you won't get a part time job in a warehouse, you need to incorporate a full body workout into your daily life.

3) I weigh myself every Sunday.

If I find myself gaining weight, I cut back for the week. By cut back I mean no soda, cookies, pasta, bread. I just make a conscious effort to cut back. Otherwise I continue my usually healthy diet of meat, fruit, and vegetables.

That is it, I quit, built up a location independent income, then went to work part time doing physical labor while maintaining a healthy diet.
